over eight tons of vegetables suitable for summer cultivation in the cold climate of the ningxia hui autonomous region were flown to dubai on july 11, marking the 10th shipment of ningxia's cold-weather vegetables to the dubai market this year.
ningxia has long hours of sunshine and large temperature differences between day and night. such unique natural conditions yield high-quality products such as cold-weather vegetables.
"these vegetables, including varieties such as bok choy, chinese broccoli and spinach, totaling 19 varieties, are all high-quality cold-weather vegetables grown locally in ningxia. after harvesting, pre-cooling, sorting and packaging, they can be transported to consumers in dubai within just half a day at the shortest," said wei xinmin, chairman of a local agricultural company in ningxia.

since the beginning of this year, ningxia has set their sights on direct flights between yinchuan and dubai, actively expanding into the middle eastern market. "fruits and vegetables in dubai are relatively scarce, which presents us with business opportunities. saudi arabia, oman and seven other middle eastern countries are also in talks with us regarding vegetable imports. ningxia vegetables are in high demand in the dubai market," said wei.

in recent years, ningxia has established several major industries, including vegetables grown indoors , cold-weather vegetables, and vegetables supplied to hong kong. by 2025, the planting area of cold-weather vegetables in ningxia is expected to reach 3.5 million mu, with a total output exceeding 7.5 million tons, and the comprehensive output value will reach 50 billion yuan ($6.88 billion).
